Washed and waxed two out of our three vehicles. My car got a detail a couple weeks ago, so I ignored it today. Cue sad trombone. Anyway, I also mowed the yard and trimmed the edges. Woot for being productive and getting some much needed Vitamin D.
The CX-5 is alarmingly full of scratches and dings for only being 3.5 years old. :/ But what can you do? My wife isn’t as “selective” with parking as I am. Also, the door edge guards we stupidly installed when the car was new have ruined the paint under them. Cue another sad trombone.
The S-10 is nothing but a maze of scratches, clearcoat fading, dents, etc. But. It has little to no rust. And it’s a 21-year-old GM product. I consider it a success that it looks and runs the way it does after 169,000 miles. The only issue is some smoke at startup (rings).

What do you do to keep bastard weeds from growing between your stones? Avid weeder?

Take the weed eater and go to town. And yeah, pick at weeds a lot. I spray in between them some, too.

It’s snowing here...
That still didn’t stop me from taking down a hedge that my dad’s been complaining about since he bought the house fifteen years ago. Yard work FTW.

I'm interested in your experience with the CX5. My wife and I are considering one for a baby hauler. Any issues?

Nope. Not a single one, ever. Bought it December 2012 with 6 miles. Now it has 33,000. All we have done is change the oil and rotate the tires. My wife still loves it. It has gotten up to 37 MPG on a trip with us and (contrary to reviews) has plenty of get-up-and-go for daily driving. Decent rear seat room, too. And you won’t believe the amount of stuff my wife is able to fit in it (she loves crafts).
It truly is an awesome vehicle. We are very glad we bought it. Oh, it’s only the front-wheel-drive but it is damn good in the snow. I’ve went through 9-10 inch drifts with no issues.
If I had to name an issue, I’d say the upholstery. We got tan cloth, as ours is a base model (Sport trim - it’s only options are Bluetooth, automatic, and the roof rack). The tan cloth was a mistake. It has kind of not worn too well on the driver’s seat. It doesn’t look that bad but you can definitely see the wear - and sometimes it turns kind of blue from my wife’s jeans.
However, I've been in CX-5s with leather and they felt great. And the black cloth in my former car, a 2008 Mazda3, held up really well.

Come to Kentucky! We have crazy pollen counts and weather patterns that change by the hour but when it is decent outside, it’s really nice! Today there was like zero humidity and a slight breeze, too.

Sounds just like Manitoba... in June. Maybe July.
They actually closed highways out here yesterday cause of the snow...

Awesome! They can be had for decent prices on the used market. If you get a 2014-2016 with the 2.5, make sure the fuel filler recall has been done. Ours is a 2013 and wasn't affected.
